From here:
The University of Nottingham has conducted a study showing that supermassive black holes have the power to strip galaxies of the gases that form stars. The accretion disc, a ring of energy around the event horizon of a black hole, produces so much energy that the gas used to create stars is being heated up, to the point that it cannot cool down and collapse to form stars before the universe ends, meaning that new stars cannot form. The disc also forces gas away from the black hole, inevitably dispersing its host. This means that new stars cannot be born, and black holes die with the remaining stars, making everything entirely pointless. It's honestly kind of depressing.
Here is a picture of a rabbit.
Now everything is better.
